Here is South Africa we love just love to braai (Or you might know it as BBQ) we braai everything! Meat, Fish, Chicken, pork, vegtables, breads – Oh man the list can just go on and on…. So if you are looking for a good side dish at your next BBQ why not try this BBQ Corn on the cob.

BBQ Corn on the Cob

The beauty of these BBQ corn on the cob is that you can easily use this as the main dish for a vegetarian meal. The taste is just amazing and will have everyone coming back for seconds.

They are also very versatile. You can cook these in an oven, air fryer or over the coals. They will cook in the oven for around 20-35 minutes, air fryer for around 12-15 minutes. But I prefer to cook them over the BBQ grill. The coals must be medium heat as you want the corn to cook slowly and not burn. Remember to turn them often.
Once they start cooking the corn will curl.

Hope you will enjoy these. Happy BBQ-ing!

BBQ Corn on the Cob

Ingredients

4 Corn on the cob
15ml Olive oil
5ml Salt
5ml Garlic powder
2.5ml Salt
2.5 Onion Powder
5ml Smoked Paprika

Directions

Split the corn into quarters. The best way is to chop of the sides of the cob and then let the corn stand upright vertical. Very carefully and using a sharp knife, cut into half and then cut those halves into half again. Cut slow and take care not to let the knife slip.

Prepare the seasoning. Mix all the spices and oil together in a small bowl. Brush the seasoning over the chopped corn.

Cook them in the oven for 20-25 minutes at 180˚C. Turn Halfway thru the cooking.
Or in the Air Fryer for 12-15 minutes at 190˚C. Turn Halfway thru the cooking.
Or you can cook them over a medium heat BBQ grill for 10-15 minutes, turn them often.
As they heat up and cook, they start to curl.

Serve these as a delicious side dish or the main attraction.
