Everything but the kitchen sink cookies

Don’t you just love this name…: “Everything but the kitchen sink cookies.” I have images of throwing all things edible into a dough and baking them.😁 Well these cookies are almost like that. It’s pretty much a little bit of everything. And the best is that this recipe is versatile. Feel free to chop and change the ingredients as it suits you or your family.

Waking up this morning to soft rain falling outside as the colder weather starts to set in. I just felt like baking something. My first thought was “Melk kos” This is Afrikaans, but directly translate to Milk Food. I know… This does not sound very appetizing. But this creamy porridge like dessert (or meal in our house) is truly a loved dish. http://www.livingdelish.com/south-african-melkkos/ This along with cinnamon sugar pancakes our rainy day treats….

But today I was more in the mood for a cookie… something different to the normal stuff. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with a good peanut butter cookie or chocolate chip cookie. But it almost seems that I’m always baking these. You know, when you ask the kids what they would like it will always be one of those. But do feel free to give them a shot. They are super delicious!!
