Pear Custard Pie ready to be enjoyed

Who does not love a good pear? But we have a little problem in our house… As soon as we buy some, the kids eat them with in a day or two…. So, Luckily I was given a quite a few the other day. More than what the kids could finish!! Yes!!! 😂 A pear-fect excuse to bake this delicious Pear Custard Pie.

This recipe is really easy to make. If you have little ones in the house, that is eager to help, this is a good recipe to make with them. The most work is cutting up the pears, the rest of the ingredients are just measured and dumped into a mixing bowl then mixed together. How easy is that?

This pear custard pie has a creamy custard like batter mixed in with some juice fresh pears… A perfect combination!

Pear Custard Pie

Ingredients

4- 5 firm pears – peeled, cored and sliced into thin slices
¼ cup of melted butter
3 eggs, large
¾ cup milk
¼ teaspoon salt
â…“ cup sugar
â…“ cup all purpose cake flour
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
Powered sugar for dusting after baking

Directions

Preheat the oven to 180ËšC.
Grease a +/- 18 – 20 cm pie dish (You can also use a Pyrex Dish)

Place the prepared pears in to your greased pie dish. You can arrange them in a pattern but this is not necessary.

In a mixing bowl, add in the remainder of the ingredients except the powered sugar. Mix well until smooth.

Now carefully pour the batter over the pears. Bake for 30 minutes or until the custard is golden brown and firm to the touch.

Once out of the oven, dust with powered sugar and serve.
